Sunset or Explosion?

This photo was taken with a Canon 5d in Maui, HI. This isn't the original. I played around with it in Photoshop CS3. I am still a newbie to Photoshop. This photo reminds me of 60's Pop Art.

One of our next assignments in my Professional Photography class is to create a world portrait and manipulate it to make it look antique-ish or old. So, here is the before and after of a sample photo I played around with in photoshop. This isn't my portrait by the way. I thought it was going to be difficult, but it wasn't at all. With photoshop there are so many different ways and steps of manipulating your images to receive the result that you want .
