Angles

Sugar Cane Express
Maui, HI

During my early classes in photography, they taught us, it is all about angles and where you position your camera. No one wants to see the subject perfectly in the middle, such as your horizon where the sky meets the water or ground. You want something that is going to please your eye and make you wonder. For example this photo, if you haven't been here, makes you wonder and imagine what is beyond the bridge? What is going to happen? This photo was taken with a Canon 5D I just stuck it out of the side and captured it. I think it's pretty awesome capturing images like this because normally we don't get to sit on the side of a train and see this view so, thankfully there is a camera that reaches certain spots to capture haha.

So, I had to do a reshoot on my first assignment in my Professional Photography 180 class today with the 4x5 camera and let me tell you awesome camera, but when your doing it in the blistering sun you tend to want to speed up the process which led me to make a couple of mistakes that showed after I developed today. So, GUESS WHAT I GET TO DO?! Yes that's right. I get to reshoot again! Woooo!

That's what the 4x5 camera is all about; precision and taking your time.

Jelly's

How awesome would this be to have a tank for a wall filled with amazing jellies? I definatly would not mind if I did especially when I might be stressed about a Photography assignment.

From Polaroid to Fuji

Yes, it has been awhile and I am still definitly in denial, but I have been in search of the original polaroid cameras as well as the film. The sucky part about all this is, about a year ago my dad was going through his old boxes and found his and I never thought to asking him if he still had it, for some reason :(. Hopefully he didn't give it away or hasn't thrown it away. I am not a big fan of buying things online because I am the type of buyer who likes to see in person and get my hands on what exactly I am buying. So, if anyone knows of someone that I could possibly buy it from please leave a detailed comment, thanks.

Recently though to fill in that empty space in my heart my lovely boyfriend decided to buy me the Fujifilm instax 200 which is fuji's version of the original polaroid, for those of you who do not know. A little on the bulkier side, but I don't mind. They also have the camera in a mini version, for those who would like something a little less noticable, it's called Fuji instax mini 7s, you guys should check it out. I have to say it's not bad I love it! But hopefully I can finally add the polaroid camera to my collection of cameras soon!

This morning I was going through my photo's organizing and wanted to put this one up for everyone to see. The story about this photo is, that day when my family and I went to the Aquarium I was struggling with life. I was questioning my direction in life and thinking so practical. After taking this photo it was like God was speaking to me and showed me to look up and trust that everything will be ok.

Daze

Mountain High Resort
March 2009
In this photo: Peter Baca

So, I took this picture last semester for my Digital Photography class, I have to say caring a camera while snowboarding isn't the easiest thing to do especially when your an amateur at snowboarding haha, but when you get breath-taking images like this it's totally worth it! Just standing on that ledge looking at those huge snow covered mountains put me in a daze.
